Acting in front of a camera since she was eight years old, Yohana Cobo has had plenty of opportunity to share her talents—and other things. Luckily for us, she gave up at least a partial view of the goods when she played Penélope Cruz’s daughter Paula in Volver (2006). She was 21 when the movie came out, so it’s perfectly legal to ogle her form right along with the person who spies on her from the doorway while she’s changing. The petite honey (she’s only 5’1”), was born in Madrid, and, after appearances here and there, got her first regular gig at age 13, playing Bianca in the TV series Hermanas in 1998. In 2001, she met Ms. Penélope in the movie Sin noticias de Dios (2001), then in 2002, she was cast as a terrorist in The Dancer Upstairs (2002), a film directed by John Malkovich and starring Javier Bardem. She earned a Best New Artist nomination for her role as in El 7° dia (2004) at the Cinema Writers Circle Awards, Spain. For her part in Pedro Almodóvar’s Volver, she and her fellow female cast members took home a shared Best Actress win at the Cannes Film Festival. On the little screen in her native Spain, you’ll find the brunette bombshell as Ajo in the TV movie El monstruo del pozo (2007), playing Lolita in the mini-series Carmina (2012), and in the role of Selma in the series Terror y feria in 2019.
